What's this ? are we back in business ? :o)
Many thanks to John “I know it’s somewhere” and his new cool computer terminal for the resurrection of the website which was in danger of becoming a relic of Herculean proportions.
Many thanks to Tim L who now has the role of stats. (Stats only takes 6 different letters to make sixes) (incidentally).
Many thanks to the rest of you. We are still afloat….
For those who often want to hang their boots up I was really glad I missed biscuits for 86 when playing hibiscus for 62 at last Friday’s jam session. Often it’s the Hollywood word that makes your oppo go into a googling jelly and sprout at the temples in fury, and not the landmine score.
I can’t rightly remember when it was we moved into Third Avenue but it’s certainly proved to be a great venue, notwithstanding the unfortunate loss of Paulette due to the stairs, and Elizabeth and Alan, who (whom, I never know) we’d be glad to see back anytime. The bar and the lighting, our own kitchen, not to mention eccentric door handles and electric sockets, somehow all add up to make it just the right home for us all.
So…..language….a fluid and inventive recognition of the eternal state of progress, or the eternal descent into the lowest common denominator ? Erm….meh…filii.It’s true that for the most time I cannot understand the insignificant double talk of politicians who cloak their words in ways which defy original meaning just as I cannot understand the street talk of anyone under 18, such that epic can mean average, and legend, truly mediocre.
So….the new twos and threes. Enjoy playing them. I suspect that all that ever matters is the joyous day when you get to play AXOLOTL.
Imagine the player who lives in fear of that being played against him.
Luv y’all
